The warning sign is not one bad night. It is when the next round starts deciding your budget, your sleep or your mood. If two or more of these sound familiar, stop for a few days and talk to someone.

• Money meant for rent, fees or EMIs ends up in the cashier.
• You play late at night to win back what went in the evening.
• You keep the amounts secret at home and snap when someone asks.
• A win feels like relief rather than fun.

Live tables add one trap of their own: the dealer, the chat and the countdown make a session feel social, and rounds blur together. Counting rounds instead of minutes helps.

Setting a rupee limit before you sit down

A limit works when you set it before playing, not at the table. Pick a monthly figure whose loss would leave every bill paid, and treat it as entertainment money, the same as cinema tickets.

1. Write the monthly amount down, for example ₹2,000, and split it into sessions: ₹500 a week.
2. Choose a stake of no more than 2% to 5% of the session: ₹10 to ₹25 on a ₹500 session.
3. Decide a stop: when the ₹500 is gone, the session ends. No second UPI payment.
4. Set a phone alarm for 30 or 45 minutes and leave when it rings, winning or losing.
5. Do not save card or UPI details in the cashier, so each deposit takes deliberate effort.

This matters more at 4rabet than it might elsewhere, because nothing in its rules lets you cap deposits. The only limit on your account is the one you set yourself.

Cooling-off and self-exclusion at 4rabet

4rabet's Responsible Gaming Policy lists breaks of one day, one week, one month or three months. A self-exclusion lasts a year or longer and cannot be lifted before it expires. Where the account does not show the option, the policy points you to [email protected].

The profile we opened showed no section for safer play, the policy never mentions capping deposits, and its single help link led to Gamblers Anonymous; no Indian number was listed.

If you hold accounts at several sites, exclude yourself at each one. A break at one operator does not stop the others.

Free help in India: Tele-MANAS and others

You do not need to have stopped already to ask for help. These services are free.

• Tele-MANAS: 14416 or 1-800-891-4416, the government's mental health helpline, free, confidential and open 24/7, in several Indian languages.
• Gamblers Anonymous: free peer meetings, including online ones, for people who want to stop gambling.
• Your doctor or a district hospital psychiatry department can refer you for counselling.
• Cybercrime helpline 1930 and cybercrime.gov.in, if a "betting agent" or fake customer-care number has taken your money.

Telling one person you trust, a sibling or a friend, often makes the first call easier. Ask them to hold your UPI app for a week if that helps.

Age limit and protecting minors

Play is for adults only: no one under 18 should use this site or any betting site. If a child uses your phone, log out of betting sites, remove saved payment details and lock the cashier behind a password only you know.

The only licence 4rabet shows is offshore: its footer names Curaçao, gives no number and mentions nothing issued in India.
