Andar Bahar rules: one joker, two rows, and the price of each side per ₹1,000

How do you play Andar Bahar? Rules in one deal

A single card goes face up between the two rows: that is the joker, and only its rank matters. Cards then go one at a time to Andar and Bahar, alternating, until a card of the same rank lands, and the row holding it wins.

Andar Bahar is a game of chance: no side, pattern or bet beats the house edge over time. Paytables differ by table; the example here is an example. Links to 4rabet are affiliate links. 18+.

Follow the deal in the diagram. Andar gets a king, Bahar a 4, Andar a 2, Bahar a queen, and then the third Andar card is the 7 of hearts: five cards after the joker, Andar wins. Suits never count. Three cards of the joker's rank remain among the other 51, so a round can end on the very first card or run deep into the deck.

1. Bet window: chips go on Andar, Bahar or a side bet while the on-screen timer runs.
2. Joker: the dealer shows one card; its rank is the target.
3. Dealing: single cards go to the two rows in turn; which row starts follows the table's own rule.
4. Match: the first card of the joker's rank stops the deal.
5. Settlement: the winning row is paid at the table's printed rate, side bets are settled, and the next timer starts.

After step 1 you decide nothing: no draw, no fold, no double. The price printed for each side is the whole game.

Andar or Bahar: does the first card change your odds?

Yes, slightly. With one deck and strict alternation, the row that receives the first card wins about 51.5% of rounds and the other row about 48.5%. It gets the first look at the deck in every pair of cards, and it can even win on card one, a 1 in 17 chance.

Tables recover that gap through the price. Take an example paytable invented for this page, not 4rabet's or any provider's: the first-dealt side pays 0.9 to 1, the other side 1 to 1. Stake ₹1,000 on each side over many rounds and the averages come out like this:

The second row is the surprise. The side paying full even money costs more, because it wins less than half the time and nothing makes up for that. Across 100 rounds of ₹1,000 on this example paytable, the discounted side loses about ₹2,150 on average and the even-money side about ₹3,000. A real table may price it another way, so its paytable matters more than any hunch. Side bets: what each card-count range pays for

Side bets ask how many cards the dealer will need before the match, in ranges such as 1–5 or 41 and more. Ranges that land often pay little, rare ranges pay a lot, and the house margin is shaved off every price. With one deck the match comes within the first 5 cards in about 27% of rounds and needs more than 40 cards in under 1%, roughly 1 round in 125; even the most common range misses nearly three times in four.

Ranges and prices differ between tables, so treat this as the shape, not a paytable. The long-shot rows hide the margin best: a price a little below fair on a 1-in-125 event can go unnoticed for hundreds of rounds.

Is there a trick? Streaks, patterns and money limits

No. The history board records past rounds; it does not feed the next one. Once the deck is shuffled the card order is fixed before you bet, so five Bahar wins in a row say nothing about round six. Doubling after a loss only makes the losing streak dearer when it comes.

"Sure-shot" channels on Telegram and WhatsApp sell a guess with a fee or a referral link attached; if anyone could read the next card, they would not need your subscription.
